So, who am I? Well, here’s a little about me.
I’m Robert, I’m in my mid-thirties and live near Reading, in Berkshire. I was initiated into Freemasonry on 25th November 2008, and will be installed into The Chair on 23rd September 2015 – it’s been a busy seven years!
Kennet Lodge is in the register of The United Grand Lodge of England (www.ugle.org.uk) and we use “Emulation” Ritual.
By trade I’m a full time professional magician and mindreader – just illustrates how Freemasonry attracts all sorts of people from all different walks of life. (Of course, I can also be booked for Ladies Nights!)
As well as being a Freemason, I am also a keen astronomer and if it’s a clear night and I’m not in a Lodge meeting then I can often be found in my home observatory. I’m a member of the Newbury Astronomical Society (and on the committee of it) and have appeared on an episode of the BBC’s Sky At Night.
I have started a blog to record my time as Master of the Lodge (and the time leading up to it) which you can read at www.in-the-chair.co.uk. This also includes my 100 Days to Learn Masonic Ritual study guide, which breaks down everything a Master Elect needs to learn ahead of his Installation.
If you already are a Mason and a member of a Lodge registered with UGLE then you are more than welcome to visit Kennet Lodge. Coming meetings are listed on the Lodge’s website, and please email me for further details.
If you aren’t a Mason but would like to find out more about joining please drop me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and let me know where you live (or closest town or city) and if I can not help directly I can put you in direct contact with someone local who will be more than happy to recommend a suitable Lodge for you.
Hopefully you will enjoy In The Chair, the Masonic Podcast. Please subscribe to ensure the latest episode is automatically downloaded every week, as please leave a comment or review of the show.
Thanks for your time, and hope to see you soon,
